Come celebrate Youth Art Month on Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 at Madera County Arts Council’s Circle Gallery, located at 424 N. Gateway Drive (between 2nd and 3rd Streets), Madera, CA 93637. Starting at 9 a.m., Madera County high school and middle school students will begin work on their drawings for the Chalk Art Contest. They will have three hours (9 a.m.-12 p.m.) to complete their drawings around the theme of “what does music look like to you?”. An awards ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. which will kick off the Opening Reception of the Youth Art Exhibition from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Appetizers will be provided by Madera South High School culinary students. Special thanks go out to this year’s organizers: Madera South High School Art Teachers Katie Howden, Sheila Kincade,  Adam Mena, and MUSD Administrator Dr. Marcheta Williams.
This event is FREE and open to the public. The Youth Art Month Exhibition will be on view from March 1st through March 29th, 2019. Entrance is FREE and open to the public Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

About Youth Art Month:In 2012, March was proclaimed to be Youth Art Month in Madera by the Office of the Mayor and the City of Madera with the support of the Madera City Council and City of Madera’s Parks & Community Services Department. It is recognized that art constitutes an important part of the Madera Community and adds to the human development of area youth. Youth Art Month was created to encourage young artists by offering a professional exhibition space for their work.
